But God commendeth His love toward us in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
By our faith we:
- are justified and have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ
- have access into this grace wherein we stand
- rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Romans 5:1, 2.
This hope we have from experience as being patient in tribulations, according to Paul.
Moreover, this hope is true for the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
God’s love is proved by Christ who died for us when we were yet ungodly and without strength.
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Romans 3:23.
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16.
Being justified freely by God’s grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in His blood, to declare His righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; Romans 3:24, 25.
Furthermore, Paul assures us that when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son, therefore, we shall be saved by his life. Romans 5:10.
Joy in God trough Christ’s atonement
By the righteousness of One the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.
For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of One shall many be made righteous. Romans 5:18, 19.
Therefore, we have joy on the ground of what Jesus did for humanity and continue to do for us even now.
He is our atoning sacrifice and by faith we can accept the atonement that has been made.
For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit; 1 Peter 3:18.
