Salvation for everyone
Salvation does not come through our seeking after God, but through God’s seeking after us. This is Christ teaching revealed in the parable of the lost sheep.
There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way. Romans 3:11, 12
We do not repent in order that God may love us, but He reveals to us His love in order that we may repent. By the lost sheep Christ represents not only the individual sinner but the one world that has apostatized and has been ruined by sin. This world is but an atom in the vast dominions over which God presides, yet it is more precious in His sight than are the ninety nine that went not astray from the fold.
I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.John 14:6
There is no true excellence of character apart from Christ. He is the only way to God. Thus in vain are the dreams of mankind of progress. Moreover, in vain are all efforts for the uplifting of humanity, if they neglect the one source of hope and help for the fallen race.
O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? Romans 7:24. Such is the cry that has gone up from burdened hearts in all lands and in all ages. To all, there is but one answer – Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. John 1:29.
